Dominant A person who consensually takes power, authority or control in a relationship, scene or activity.

Domme A female-identifying person who consensually takes power, authority, or control in a relationship, scene or activity.

Switch A person who participates in relationships, scenes and activities as a Top/Dominant or bottom/submissive depending on their mood, partner or the situation. Some switches enjoy changing their power dynamic during the scene.

Submissive A person who agrees to submit or give up control in a relationship, scene or activity.

Master A person who consensually takes ownership over someone who they are in a relationship with.

Mistress A person who consensually takes ownership over someone who they are in a relationship with.

slave A person who agrees to give total control to someone who they are in a relationship with.

TopA person who is consensually in control of the action during kinky activities.

EvolvingA person who is undergoing gradual change.

ExploringA person who is on an open journey through the world of kink.

VanillaA person with without any identified kinks or fetishes.

Genders

MaleA person who has the identity and characteristics of a man.

FemaleA person who has the identity and characteristics of a woman.

Crossdresser/TransvestiteA person who likes to dress and act in a style or manner traditionally associated with the opposite gender.

TransgenderA person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their biological sex assigned at birth.

TranssexualA person who does not identify with the sex they were born with and is transitioning to the gender with which they identity, usually (but not always) with medical assistance.

Trans ManA person who is transgender or transsexual and identifies as a man.

Trans WomanA person who is transgender or transsexual and identifies as a woman.

IntersexA person who is born with a reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn’t seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male.

ButchA person who is typically female-identified whose social and relationship roles are perceived by many as being masculine, often having a lesbian, gay, or queer orientation.

FemmeA person who has an appearance or other characteristics traditionally seen as feminine, often having a lesbian, gay, or queer orientation.

Non-BinaryA person whose gender identity falls outside the male-female binary.

Gender FluidA person who fluctuates between more than one gender, or between having a gender and not having one.

GenderqueerA person whose gender identity falls outside the male-female binary.

AndrogynousA person who identifies with both feminine and masculine characteristics.

AgenderA person who does not identify as having a gender.

Bi-genderA person who identifies with two or more genders, either at the same or different times.

Two-SpiritA person who has both a masculine and a feminine spirit. Used by Indigenous First Nations and Native American peoples to describe their sexual, gender and/or spiritual identity.

 

Orientations

StraightA person who is attracted to the opposite gender in a sexual and/or romantic way.

HeteroflexibleA person who identifies as primarily straight but can occasionally find the same gender appealing in a sexual and/or romantic way.

BisexualA person who is attracted romantically and/or sexually to another gender as well as their own.

Bi-curiousA person who is curious about being sexual with someone of the same sex, but does not consider themselves to be bisexual.

HomoflexibleA person who identifies as primarily homosexual but can occasionally find the opposite gender appealing in a sexual and/or romantic way.

GayA male who is primarily attracted to other males in a sexual and/or romantic way.

LesbianA female who is primarily attracted to other females in a sexual and/or romantic way.

QueerA person who doesn’t identify with traditional categories around gender identity and sexual orientation.

Pansexual A person who is attracted to and may form sexual and romantic relationships with males, females, and people who identify outside the gender binary.

Demisexual AsexualA person who has low or absent sexual interest or desire for people of any gender.

Greysexual/Sapiosexual/Fluctuating/Evolving A person whose sexual responsiveness is changing/evolving.
